Linked Learning is Headed to SXSW EDU 2022: Scaling Equity in Health Careers
Well, we did it! Thanks to you and the entire Linked Learning field, our session Scaling Equity in Health Careers has been accepted into SXSW EDU 2022! With over 800 proposals this year, the competition was tougher than ever, with only a ~15% acceptance rate.
South By Southwest EDU, also known as SXSW EDU, is an annual conference that brings together a diverse array of education stakeholders to advance and celebrate innovations in K-12, higher education, and community learning. The Alliance’s session, Scaling Equity in Health Careers, will showcase how high schoolers are dismantling racial and ethnic representation disparities in healthcare careers everyday through Linked Learning college and career pathways, and how these pathways increase graduation rates for students of color, many of whom go on to pursue a health-related postsecondary education.
To discuss this topic in depth, we will have a diverse panel of extraordinary education and industry leaders who have been engaged in this important work for years:
- Matin Abdel-Qawi, High School Network Superintendent, Oakland Unified School District
- Esther Dabagyan, Principal, STEM Academy of Hollywood
- Jessica Pitt, Executive Director, HealthPATH, Alameda Health System; and
- Anne Stanton, President & CEO, Linked Learning Alliance
We can’t thank you enough for the endless support, for voting for the proposal, and for sharing the proposal on social media. Because of you, we now have the opportunity to amplify Linked Learning and its impact to over 13,000 attendees worldwide - and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Register here to attend the conference coming up in March 2022. Hope to see you there!
