Linked Learning Alliance Panel Advances to South by Southwest EDU Panel Picker Round
The Linked Learning Alliance is excited to share that Yes, AND!, a panel on the power of plus for young people, has advanced to the panel picker stage of the South by Southwest EDU (SXSW EDU) conference. For too long, students have faced an or: college OR a job. AP classes OR internships. College prep courses OR work-based learning. They’re deemed college material, or not. They’re urged to attend college or train for a trade. But research shows equity exists in the power of plus: uniting college AND career to ready all youth for lifelong success.
Yes, AND! will feature Linked Learning leaders from around California, including:
- Dr. Jason Gilbert, Internal Medicine Specialist, Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles
- Corrine Martinez, Co-Director CSU Center to Close the Opportunity Gap, California State University Long Beach
- Diane Walker, Director, Industry Liaison &Post-Secondary Partnerships, Antelope Valley Union High School District
- David Trachtenberg, Science Teacher, STEM Academy of Hollywood, Los Angeles Unified School District
Panelists will share how K-12 and postsecondary leaders can join with industry to kickstart education that keeps students linked to their aspirations through COVID and beyond.
