As the Pathways team coordinator, Natalie Castelo assists LEAs and education systems navigating the Linked Learning certification process. She works collaboratively with internal and external partners, coordinating activities for greater efficiency and alignment.
Natalie is a career educator dedicated to ensuring high quality, relevant education for all students. She began her career teaching middle school English in the Berkeley Unified School District, and has also taught in alternative, independent, and charter school settings. At Envision Schools, Natalie dove into Project Based Learning, working with an interdisciplinary team to produce large scale projects that explored the intersection of contemporary issues and ideas and core academic subjects.
After more than a decade in the classroom, Natalie became an instructional coach and program manager with Aspire Public Schools, working with new teachers in the Bay Area, as well as with faculty leads and administrators throughout California. Before joining the Alliance, Natalie served as a K–8 vice principal where she supported one of the first blended learning programs in the Bay Area. She continues to serve on school evaluation teams that visit and learn from schools throughout northern California.
Natalie holds a graduate degree from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Education.
